Hellow,

I've got windows messenger on my laptop, but want to get windows live put on here because that's what I can get on other computers and it's better than just windows messenger. I keep trying to install it, but when I've nearly finished, it says I haven't got the windows live suite installed. Could anyone help or tell me how to install windows live messenger?
Thank you,

Harmony.

First you have to remove windows messenger. Go to add remove programs in your control pannel and arrow down until you hear add remove windows components. then hit your tab key. Check the box that says windows messenger and tab to the finish button and press it. You may be asked to restart your computer. To install windows live messenger go to google and type in windows live messenger download. Click on thre link that says windows live messenger. Then check the box that says i agree to the usual stuff. Then hit the button that says install. You will be asked if you want to add the windows livee toolbar and a lot of other stuff. Uncheck the boxes and just install windows live messenger. After this windows live messenger will start up on it's own. Hope this helps.

Oh yuck. I love windows live but for the past month, it hasn't been reading my messages. I can't read what I type or read what they type. I tried the apatch thing but it doesn't help either. I wish you better luck on using wlm.

hmmmm, michelle, have u tried out miranda? U can put all of your clients on it, and its smaller, only 3 megs. I'm ot sure if that helps any, but just thought I'd mention it.

As do I. I don't know why you're having such problems installing Live Messenger, but you *don't* have to remove Windows Messenger beforehand.

I think I used to have windows live messenger on this computer, but I probably took it off when I took things off it before christmas when I was having problems with the computer.

hey Michelle, that's happened to me too, for like the past few months, ver'r'r'r'r'rr''rr'r'rhrhrhhrhrhrhrhrry annoying! I've made sure the option is checked in verbosity, restarted jaws and the pc, recompiled the scripts... Still doesn't work. Sometimes it doesn't read alerts either, but maybe it's just me...

I've got it fixed now. I got a sighted person to reinstall it for me.

Shouldn't have been necessary.
Whatever floats your boat.
Which leaves me to wonder, what did the "sighted person" do differently that you otherwise could not have done?

sometimes there's stuff on the screen jaws or any other screen reader does not pick up. That's why I try to look at all the options if I'm installing a program.

I don't know what they did extra that I didn't, but it works fine now and I've been able to download windows live messenger plus and install it myself. The only thing is, jaws won't read the message history to me when I press f6. I don't know if this is a jaws problem or the windows live messenger plus thing.

f6? It should be the grave key and f11 and 12. The grav ke repeats the last message, twice repeats the second to last. The f11 and f12 cycle through the last 10 messages I think. Where did you get f6?
